Labyrinth (2023)
Nicole Johänntgen · Album · Selmabird Records · distributed in France by Baco Music · September 2023
Ten compositions by Nicole Johänntgen for saxophone, tuba and percussion: Nicole Johänntgen (alto and soprano saxophone, voice), Jon Hansen (tuba), David Stauffacher (percussion), with Victor Hege on sousaphone on two tracks.
Paris, Sunset, October 4, 2023
Nicole’s first Paris concert as a leader. The day before, Alex Dutilh played “Canyon Wind” on France Musique’s Open Jazz to announce it. Télérama Sortir picked the concert in its jazz selection, and the clipping went up in the club’s window next to the poster. Jazz News came to hear the trio and wrote about it in its December issue.
