Regional daily Le Progrès published a portrait of saxophonist Grégory Sallet and his new album Otsukaresama in its Sud ouest lyonnais pages (Oullins-Pierre-Bénite), under the headline “Grégory Sallet sort un nouvel album de jazz aux influences japonaises”, by its correspondent Jocelyne Takali.

What Le Progrès wrote

Mêlant le jazz traditionnel à l’innovation moderne, créant des performances chargées d’émotion qui inspirent les publics du monde entier, Grégory Sallet sort un nouvel album. (“Blending traditional jazz with modern innovation, creating emotionally charged performances that inspire audiences around the world, Grégory Sallet releases a new album.”)

The Le Progrès article

The article recalls his studies at the Chambéry conservatoire, where he obtained a Diplôme d’État de Jazz, his awards at La Défense Jazz Paris 2013, Jazz à Vienne 2012 and Jazz Rhône Alpes 2012, and quotes him on the album title, emblematic of his interest in Japan and his wish to express it through rhythmic repetition.
