Alexandre Herer Nunataq

Mexico tour campaign · 2026

A one-month jazz promotion campaign in Mexico for Alexandre Herer Nunataq’s first tour of the country, in February 2026, run by Monart for the French label Onze Heures Onze together with the Mexican jazz magazine Contratiempo. Six concerts in Mexico City and Puebla, with saxophonist Adrian Chaillou as guest.

What we did

  • Short videos and texts in Spanish for the Mexican audience, cut from the band’s studio and rehearsal footage
  • An interview in documentary format: questions by Efraín Alavez, art direction by Monart, answers recorded by Alexandre in Paris
  • Editorial coverage on Contratiempo: a feature, the interview and the concert listings
  • Paid campaign on Meta in partnership with Contratiempo, aimed at jazz audiences in Mexico

Nunataq in Mexico

Alexandre Herer Fender Rhodes · Gaël Petrina electric bass · Pierre Mangeard drums · guest Adrian Chaillou saxophone

After ten years exploring his favourite instrument, the Fender Rhodes, Alexandre Herer brings together what he learned alongside musicians such as Magic Malik, Jozef Dumoulin, Marc Ducret, Stéphane Payen, Julien Pontvianne and Olivier Laisney. Nunataq is partly inspired by vast frozen landscapes like Greenland, places that bear witness to a climate now threatened.

Creative Jazz of Paris label logo

Creative Jazz of Paris. Onze Heures Onze used the tour to introduce Creative Jazz of Paris, a long-term initiative to showcase the creative jazz of Paris, still rarely heard in Mexico.

The tour, February 2026

  • Feb 12 · Jazzatlán Capital, Mexico City
  • Feb 14 · Jazzland Las Piadosas, Puebla
  • Feb 15 · Teatro del Pueblo, Mexico City, for the 26th anniversary of Horizonte 107.9 FM
  • Feb 18 · Centenario 107, Mexico City
  • Feb 19 · Casa Franca, Mexico City
  • Feb 21 · El Zinco, Mexico City

The interview

With the tour weeks away and the band in Paris, a live conversation was not possible. We proposed another format: Efraín Alavez of Contratiempo wrote the questions, Monart set the direction, and Alexandre recorded his answers at his own pace. Natural side light, a camera kept at a distance, Alexandre speaking to someone just beside it, with room for silence. Contratiempo premiered it on YouTube on February 5, 2026, together with a written version.
