On Thursday 21 October 2021, pianist Manuel Rocheman gave the official release concert of his album Magic Lights at the Bal Blomet, in Paris 15e.
The quartet of the album
He played with the musicians of the record: American saxophonist Rick Margitza, a former member of Miles Davis’s band, Mathias Allamane on double bass and Matthieu Chazarenc on drums. Magic Lights was released in 2021 by Bonsaï Music.
A date moved by the pandemic
The release concert was first planned for 1 June 2021. As the Bal Blomet could not reopen before 9 June, it was moved to the autumn. In the meantime, the quartet played the music of the album at the Sunside on 25 and 26 June.
