“Runaway”, the second single from León Chiprout’s Superficially Profound, came out on October 9, 2026, featuring Sabo Romo, bassist of the Mexican rock band Caifanes.
León wrote it right after listening to Wayne Shorter’s Speak No Evil: a cello melody, a rhythmic string section, like a chase on a mountain road in the sixties, then a brass band bridge. He had already recorded the bass, but something was missing, so he called Sabo, his musical partner of three decades.
The official music video came out on October 16, 2026.
Monart is running the release: content from the studio sessions and the conversation between León and Sabo, subtitled in English, cuts of the music video as Meta Ads in Latin America and Europe, Spotify Canvas loops, newsletters, and the Runaway page on leonchiprout.com.
