From 22 to 24 June 2022, Monart founder Gustavo Mezo took part as an international guest in the professionals’ programme of inJazz, the Dutch jazz conference and showcase festival held in Amsterdam and Rotterdam.
Back live after two digital years
After two editions in the digital domain, inJazz returned to live events in 2022. The festival, free for everyone, opened on 22 June at the BIMHUIS in Amsterdam and continued on 23 June on five stages in Rotterdam’s Katendrecht neighbourhood. As every year, it kicked off North Sea Round Town, Rotterdam’s fringe festival.
Sixteen bands from the Netherlands
A selection committee of Dutch programmers chose 16 bands based in the Netherlands for the official showcase programme, from duos to ten-piece ensembles: four at the BIMHUIS and twelve in Rotterdam. Around the concerts, the professionals’ programme offered talks, special performances and networking moments at venues including Verhalenhuis Belvédère, Batavierhuis and Grounds, as well as a World Blend Café presented with World Music Forum NL.
