Alberto Caicedo releases Horizontes, his third album, on November 20, 2025, and celebrates it the same evening with a release concert at the Trifolion in Echternach, Luxembourg. The Colombian salsa composer, born in Guapi on the Pacific coast and based in Luxembourg, signs ten songs that travel from Afro-Pacific roots to Europe.
A journey from Guapi to Luxembourg
The album opens with “La Tierra de la Belleza”, an act of gratitude, then lifts the tempo with “Salsa en Pata Pata”, the bachata “El Amor No Entiende” and the European postcard “Champs Élysées”, before closing with “Reloj”, a tribute to the great Mexican boleristas. Caicedo’s arrangements unite Afro-Pacific percussion, salsa brass, Latin-jazz harmony and European lyricism.
Recorded at AC Studios in Luxembourg and mixed by Daniel Hahnfeld, Horizontes gathers musicians from eight countries under Caicedo’s direction. Artwork by Eddie White.
Release night at the Trifolion
On release night, Alberto Caicedo presented Horizontes live at the Trifolion Echternach, as part of the Echter’World Festival, with Norman Peplow (piano), Pablo Martínez (trombone), Anays Jiménez (vocals), Gonzalo Alfaro (bass), Jim López (congas), Diego Peña López (bongos), Oscar Cordero (trumpet) and Alberto Medina (saxophone).
