About the single
“Taza de cafe” captures the suspended, luminous intimacy of a morning that feels almost unreal: a moment where the world stops in the iridescent steam of a cup and the quiet between two people says more than words. It celebrates the beauty of the present moment and the simple rituals that give life its meaning. The song leaves the emotional story unresolved but hopeful, suggesting that love, uncertainty and self-discovery are all part of the same human journey. The song suggests that life continues through small gestures, even after love and heartbreak have reshaped us, ultimately it is part of everyone and an important part of life.
The metaphors treat domestic gestures as gateways, for instance the sugar dissolving “like my lips on your mouth” (“como mis labios en tu boca”), the ray of sun on a face, the mirrored spoon clinking like a tiny lighthouse inside the silence. Throughout the lyrics, time stretches into a fragile eternal dawn where desire, tenderness, and uncertainty blur “love, desire, or longing?” (“amor, deseo o anhelo?”). Even the smallest images: yesterday’s glasses on the table, bare feet, a borrowed shirt, become proof of a connection that feels both accidental and fated. The final verse crystallizes the emotional ambiguity: “I don’t know if I lose myself with you or if I’m just searching for myself in your embrace” (“No se si me pierdo contigo o si solo me busco en tu abrigo”). Love becomes a question, not an answer, and the beauty of the encounter lies in that unresolved radiance. “Taza de cafe” is that held breath before reality returns.
Musically, the track is intentionally intimate with minimal processing, creating the sensation of being inside the room. It avoids dramatic peaks; the song breathes in small gestures, like a slow exhale. But its most unexpected timbre sits in the background: a tiny Casio toy piano from Luca’s childhood, found in his father’s attic and played for the synth colours that subtly animate the track. Its small, imperfect sound anchors the song’s emotional world: childlike, unguarded, open.
“Taza de cafe” is not about nostalgia, but about the fragile hope that appears when life gives you a glimpse of connection without telling you where it leads. It sets the emotional tone of the album: suspended states, gentle revelations, and the search for a third space beyond dualities of love and heartbreak.
