Laurent Larcher
When You Smile · Album artwork and website
Bassist and composer Laurent Larcher writes original instrumental and vocal music in jazz and funk colours. We designed the cover of his trio’s album When You Smile and finished the CD with him, then designed and built laurentlarcher.com, in the black, white and amber of that cover.
What we did
- Album cover design for When You Smile, Laurent Larcher Trio
- CD artwork finished for release: disc label, barcode, Colove Music logo, print files
- Musician website design and build on WordPress: home, bio, news, concerts, press and contact, desktop and mobile
- Visual identity taken from the album cover: amber, black and white photos, Oswald and Advent Pro
- Newsletter signup on every page
- WordPress handover, so Laurent updates his own pages

When You Smile
Laurent Larcher Trio · Album · CD · Colove Music
A close-up in black and white: two hands on the body of a double bass, the strings running down the middle. The trio’s name on the left, the title on the right in amber. Nothing else, the instrument says the rest.
Palette
The cover gave Laurent his colours, and the site takes them back: amber for the titles and for the shapes that cross the photos, black and white for the pictures, a touch of rose on the Concerts page.
Two voices
Oswald for the titles, condensed like the lettering on the cover. Advent Pro for the text, light and round, so long biographies stay easy to read.
The website
Each page opens on a black and white photo crossed by an amber shape: Bio, News, Press, Contact. The home page leads to the album and to the newsletter, and the footer carries the same signup everywhere.
